Online Training Programme on Sustainable Urban Planning (28th-29th July 2021)

Present effort of GIS-based Master Plan under AMRUT scheme is mainly focusing on preparation of geoinformation science and inputs to the Master planning process. Hence, these plans are limited in nature since they digitize existing land uses and relevant information only. Urban planning requires a more comprehensive and implementable approach. For this training program, ‘sustainable urban planning’ can be described as an approach to planning process that strengthens integrated and intersectoral planning through key planning tools and implementation mechanisms, thereby increasing synergies and funding efficiency.
