Here’s an overview of the 4 steps involved in creating a course, paving the way for you to become an instructor on SUKALP.
Step 1: Plan your course
Planning your course content is important before you start recording. That way, you’ll have the right context for what you’re going to teach and the audience you’re creating for your course for urban planning in the Indian context.
Choose your topic under the 7 urban thematic areas. You can teach anything under the urban planning domain.
Identify your intended learners. It’s important to identify the specific audience that you want to take your course. This will help you focus your course content to be relevant to these students and what they will learn and be able to achieve by the end of the course.
Create your learning objectives and course outline. Defining your course learning objectives is critical to creating a well-structured course that is relevant and organized to provide a strong online learning experience for your learners.
Create and practice your script. Learners love passionate and interesting instructors who keep them engaged. So you’ll create and practice your script to be prepared to keep your energy levels up.
Step 2: Produce your course
Once your course is planned, it’s time to bring it to life. Record your sessions and upload it on SUKALP Platform.
Polish your course Once your course is recorded, it’s time to edit and add the finishing touches to your course before publishing it.
Upload completed course videos. You will upload your final course videos along with any learning materials. Complete tasks like refining your course summary, creating your course image, completing your instructor bio, setting your course price and checking your course before submitting for one last review.
Step 3: Publish your course
Submit your course for review to ensure it meets our quality review process and doesn’t violate any of our policies. This review helps us ensure courses on our platform provide a high-quality learning experience for our learners. All courses and content will undergo a rigorous review process before they are published on our platform.
Update and publish your course. The SUKALP Review Team will evaluate your final course and provide feedback, if necessary. If you have received feedback, make the appropriate edits and resubmit your course. Once it’s approved, your course will be published to our platform and you’ll be an official SUKALP instructor!
What is the Quality Review Process?
At SUKALP, our mission is to help everyone learn online. In order to ensure that students have great learning experiences, we have a Quality Review Process in place that every course goes through. Once your course is completely ready, you need to submit your course for review to enter the course into the SUKALP Quality Review Process. For more information on submitting your course for review, please refer to this article. After you submit your course for review, the SUKALP Quality Review Team will evaluate your course and provide feedback on all the items. Once your course passes, it will be published for anyone to discover in the SUKALP Portal. Until then, your course will not be discoverable.
Course Review Time
The Review Team will review your course based on our Quality Checklist. After your course is added to the Review Team queue, you should receive a reply within 10 business days.
Check Course Feedback
The Quality Review Team will give feedback on the course feedback page, and they will inform you whether the course has been approved, or if it requires fixes.
Approved
If the Quality Review Team does not identify any required fixes, your course will be live and published. Please review any recommendations the team has provided on how to improve student course satisfaction. Action on this type of feedback, however, is not required.
Needs Fixes
If your course requires fixes, then it is not live on the SUKALP, regardless of whether it is public or private. To publish the course, please make any required changes, mark them as fixed and resubmit the course for review.
