Major Infrastructure Projects
Join us as we explore the stories behind India’s landmark infrastructure projects.
The 2025 CEPT Conference on Civil Engineering in India will focus on Major Infrastructure Projects—a key driver of India’s economic transformation. Over the past 25 years, landmark initiatives have set the stage for transformative development. This edition will spotlight both historic and ongoing iconic projects such as the Mundra Port, the new Parliament House/Central Vista, the Kempegowda Airport, the Kishenganga Dam in Kashmir, Zoji La Tunnel, the Mumbai Metro Rail and the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (Bullet Train). These projects illustrate the scale, technical complexity, and multi-stakeholder coordination that the conference will examine.
These large-scale projects involve complex delivery mechanisms - multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, advanced technologies, and sensitive political and operational environments. The conference will bring together senior leaders, engineers, designers, contractors, developers, and public officials to reflect on these realities through case studies and discussions. It will explore the critical question:
What does it take to make major infrastructure projects succeed in India, and how can we strengthen systems for the future?
Supported by the Gujarat Technological University, the Gujarat Institute of Civil Engineers and Architects, and the Gujarat Contractors Association, this Conference serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and interdisciplinary dialogue on issues shaping India’s built environment. Organised by the Faculty of Technology, CEPT University, and the CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF), it facilitates professional learning, peer exchange, and institutional collaboration.
